The largest collector’s gallery in the west of France, ‘In Arte Veritas,’ located in Angers, has equipped itself with a Zenius to print its art labels, achieving its objective of reflecting the high-end image of the artworks through the labels that describe them. Stéphane Debost, co-founder and manager of the ‘In Arte Veritas’ art gallery, shares his experience.
The challenge: to use labels as a high-end communication medium.
It all started with a simple and obvious observation by Stéphane Debost, co-founder and manager of the art gallery ‘In Arte Veritas’: the majority of art labels are simply not up to the level of the artworks they accompany. He has noticed this during his visits to art fairs, galleries, and exhibitions, even those of a high standing. He has seen labels made from simple paper or foam board, printed and cut in an amateur way.
This observation allowed him to take a step back and look at the presentation of his own labels in his art gallery. What medium could be used to enhance the label and its information, sending out an image of quality for the works and his art gallery? And, at the same time, minimize the manual operations of cutting and highlighting?
The solution: a black PVC card with white printing for simple and elegant art labels.
To convey a high-end image, the new label cards needed to be simple and elegant. Consistency in the form of the labels was also important to create a harmonious visual coherence in the gallery. Based on these criteria, Stéphane Debost chose the Evolis Zenius card printer.
He now prints his art labels on black credit-card-size cards with white printing, which gives them that high-end image. The use of the Zenius solution allows him to produce a new label when a new work enters the gallery and to update the labels if necessary, mainly when a work increases in value and its price changes.

The result: a solution that meets the desired image objective in a practical way.
“Flexibility of operation and quality at any given moment,” is how Stéphane Debost sums up his satisfaction with the Zenius solution for the instant issuance of his art labels. The Evolis Zenius solution enables him to print and personalize his art labels on demand, but also to produce other types of information cards, for instance to ensure the safety of the works (like this example of a “Do not touch” card). And all this can be done very simply, as he himself says: “the software that is used to fill out the labels is very easy to use.”
